Wireman trade is not accepted for Electrician. ITI certificates must be from NCVT/SBTE-recognised institutes. Training is for 12 months in all trades.
Age Limit and Other Eligibility
- Age: 18 to 24 years as on 29.11.2026 (date of birth between 29.11.2002 and 29.11.2008).
- Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC (NCL) 3 years; PwBD 10 years (SC/ST PwBD 15, OBC PwBD 13).
- Domicile: you can apply only for a work centre whose eligible districts (Annexure-I) cover your domicile or the place of your qualification. Example: Dehradun – all of Uttarakhand; Agartala – Tripura; Kolkata – West Bengal and Odisha.
- Apply in one sector, one work centre and one trade only.
- Candidates who have already done or are undergoing apprenticeship are not eligible. Technician Apprentice applicants with one year or more of work experience after qualification are not eligible.
- You must not have completed three years after passing the qualifying exam as on 29.11.2026.
- Engagement is subject to medical fitness. ONGC has no obligation to offer a regular job after training.

Apprentices are not eligible for any TA-DA, boarding or lodging expenses during the training period.
Application Fee
The ONGC advertisement does not mention any application fee.
Selection Process
- A provisional merit list is prepared trade-wise and centre-wise on the basis of marks in the qualifying exam. In a tie, the older candidate gets preference.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification with original certificates.
- Selected candidates are informed by email, and results are published on ongcapprentices.ongc.co.in.
