Eligibility – Qualification and Domicile
- Domicile: Class-III & IV posts (Advertisement 2/2026) are open only to candidates with Chhattisgarh domicile. Class-II officer posts are open to other states too, with a lower age limit.
- Data Entry Operator: B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc. or Master’s in Computer Science/IT or BCA; or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus one of these: 3-year CS/IT/Modern Office Management course, DCA, ITI COPA, PGDCA, or a Chhattisgarh Shighralekhan Mudralekhan Pariksha Parishad Hindi and English typing certificate (5,000 key depressions per hour).
- Attendant (Plant) Gr-III: 10th pass with at least second division plus a two-year ITI in the relevant trade (Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic or Electronics).
- Junior Engineer: Three-year diploma or B.E./B.Tech in the relevant branch (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, CS/IT or Civil).
- Assistant Engineer: Four-year B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in the relevant branch.
- Fire Attendant Gr-II: 12th pass with Chemistry plus an NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate.

The fee is paid online only (debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI). Eligible departmental employees of the CS Power Companies are exempt.
Selection Process
- Online CBT: 100 MCQs of 1 mark each, 2 hours – Part I Professional Subject (80 questions) and Part II GK, English, Hindi and Reasoning/Quantitative Ability (20 questions). One-fourth (0.25) mark is deducted per wrong answer.
- Qualifying marks: 40% for UR/OBC and 30% for SC/ST in the CBT.
- Data Entry Operator: CBT, then a computer typing test in Hindi and English (minimum 5,000 KDPH, 30/50 qualifying in each). Merit is based on CBT + skill test.
- Stenographer: CBT + shorthand test + typing test. Assistant Engineer and other officer posts: CBT + 10-mark interview.
- JE, Attendant (Plant) and paramedical posts: merit is based on CBT marks, followed by document verification at Raipur.
- CBT centres: Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg-Bhilai, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur.
