Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. has released four detailed notifications for the direct recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Banking Associates (Clerk) for the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. Together they cover 1,397 vacancies: 1,033 Banking Associates and 323 POs for the UT of J&K, plus 21 Banking Associates and 20 POs for the UT of Ladakh.
Online registration and fee payment run from 07.11.2026 to 26.11.2026, and the online exams will be conducted by IBPS. Only domiciles of the respective UT can apply. Reservation follows the UT reservation rules. For J&K this includes SC 8%, ST 20% (10% + 10%), OBC 8%, ALC/IB residents 4%, Residents of Backward Areas 10%, EWS 10% and PwD 4% (horizontal). Category-wise details are in each PDF. Candidates can apply only for the seats of the UT in which they hold domicile.
Eligibility – Qualification and Domicile
- Education (both posts): Graduate in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government/UGC, as on the last date of registration. You must enter your graduation percentage while registering.
- Domicile: Only domiciles of the UT of J&K can apply under the J&K notifications, and only domiciles of the UT of Ladakh under the Ladakh notifications. Selected candidates must submit a domicile certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Posting: Selected candidates must stay in the zone first allotted to them for at least 5 years. No transfer outside that zone is allowed before then.
- A self-declaration of character and antecedents in the prescribed format is required.

Upper age relaxation for J&K: SC/ST 5 years, OBC/ALC-IB/RBA 3 years, PwD 10 years (EWS: nil). The Ladakh PO notification also gives a one-time additional relaxation of 5 years under GAD Order No. 280-LA(GAD) of 2025 dated 30.06.2025. Check the PDF for your category.

- Probationary Officer: Prelims → Mains → Interview. Candidates equal to 10 times the vacancies (category-wise) go from Prelims to Mains, and 3 times from Mains to the interview. The final merit uses Mains and interview scores in an 80:20 ratio. The interview carries 100 marks.
- Banking Associate: Selection is based on the aggregate score in the online exam, and a reserve list of up to 50% of vacancies is drawn.
- In the objective tests, one-fourth of the marks for a question is deducted for each wrong answer. You must clear the sectional cut-offs; for PO Prelims the minimum aggregate is 40% (General) and 35% (reserved).
- Candidates choose six exam centres, and at least three must be outside the UT of J&K (as per the J&K notification).

Other perks are as applicable to each cadre. POs are on probation for 2 years from the date of joining.

- Go to the official careers page jkb.bank.in/career and download the notification for your post and UT.
- Click “Apply for the post of Probationary Officer/ Banking Associate”, which opens the IBPS registration portal (ibpsreg.ibps.in/jkbvpocto26).
- Click New Registration, enter your name, mobile number and e-mail, and note the provisional registration number and password.
- Fill in personal, domicile, category and graduation details, then upload your photo, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as specified.
- Pay the fee online and submit the form by 26.11.2026.
