The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released Advertisement No. A-4/E-1/2026, dated 26 October 2026, for the Samiksha Adhikari / Sahayak Samiksha Adhikari Etc. (General/Special Recruitment) Examination-2026. It covers Review Officer (RO), Assistant Review Officer (ARO) and some other posts in the UP Secretariat, UPPSC, the Board of Revenue and the Office of the Advocate General, UP.

Special recruitment (6 posts): Assistant Review Officer (Account), UP Secretariat – SC 3, OBC 3. The notification says the number of vacancies may increase or decrease. Posts carry pay from Level-5 (₹29,200–64,700) up to Level-8 (₹47,600–1,51,100), depending on the post.
Eligibility – Educational Qualification
- RO / ARO (Secretariat, Board of Revenue, UPPSC, Advocate General): Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, plus DOEACC/NIELIT ‘O’ Level certificate (a Diploma in Computer Science is accepted for some posts) and Hindi typing speed of 25 words per minute. English typing is a preferential qualification for some posts.
- RO (Account) / ARO (Account): B.Com with Accountancy, ‘O’ Level certificate in Computer Application, and knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script.
- Manager, Care-Taker, Receptionist (Swagati) and Store Keeper (UPPSC): post-specific essential and preferential qualifications are listed in the official notification.
- Two years of service in the Territorial Army or an NCC ‘B’ certificate gives preference in direct recruitment, other things being equal.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)
- Minimum age 21 years and maximum age 40 years, i.e. born not before 2 July 1986 and not after 1 July 2005.
- SC/ST/OBC of Uttar Pradesh, skilled players and UP state government employees: 5 years relaxation (born not before 2 July 1981).
- Persons with disabilities of UP: 15 years relaxation, maximum age 55 years.
- ECO/SSCO ex-army personnel: 3 years plus period of service, as per rules. Research scholars of the UP Chief Minister Fellowship programme get up to 3 years.
- Reservation and relaxation are only for domiciles of Uttar Pradesh.

A separate fee is charged for the Main exam: ₹225 for UR/EWS/OBC and candidates of other states, ₹105 for SC/ST, ₹25 for persons with disabilities and ₹105 for ex-army personnel.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
- Preliminary Exam: one objective (OMR) paper on General Studies and General Hindi – 200 questions (140 General Studies + 60 General Hindi), 1 mark each, 200 marks, 3 hours.
- Negative marking: one-third (1/3) of the marks for a question are deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates equal to about 15 times the number of vacancies will be called for the Main exam.
- Main (Written) Exam: conventional (descriptive) papers. The final merit list is based on the total marks in the Main exam.
- Minimum qualifying standard: 35% for SC/ST and 40% for other categories.
