TNPSC Group 2 and 2A 2026 Vacancy Details
According to the official notification and addendum, the vacancies notified for CCSE-II are:

Group II posts include Deputy Commercial Tax Officer, Sub Registrar Grade-II, Assistant Inspector (Labour), Probation Officer, Jailor, Special Branch Assistant and Assistant Section Officer. Group IIA posts include Senior Revenue Inspector, Assistant in many departments, Accountant, Audit Inspector, Handloom Inspector, Senior Inspector (Co-operation) and Lower Division (Counter) Clerk. The addendum added 2 Probation Officer posts (Social Defence) in Group II, plus 10 Supervisor of Industrial Co-operatives and 3 Assistant posts in Group IIA. It also revised Assistant (Finance, post code 1077) to 17. TNPSC says vacancy numbers are tentative and may change until the prelims result.
Eligibility and Age Limit (Quick Recap)
- Qualification: For most posts, a degree from a university recognised by the UGC. Some posts need specific degrees, for example a B.L. degree for Assistant Section Officer (Law, 1073) and Assistant (1076), B.Com for Accountant (3357, 3823), and MCA or M.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) for ASO-cum-Programmer (2215).
- Age (as on 01.07.2026): For most posts, candidates in the “Others” category must be 18 and not have completed 32. For most posts there is no maximum age limit for SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM) and BCM candidates, which means not having completed 60. Some posts have different limits, such as Probation Officer, Deputy Commercial Tax Officer and Executive Officer Grade III.
- Tamil: Candidates must have adequate knowledge of Tamil, as defined in the notification.
- Eligibility was fixed at the application stage. Check the post-wise tables in the notification and addendum for exact limits.

- Duration: 3 hours. The minimum qualifying mark is 90 for all communities.
- Mode: OMR-based objective type (single paper, common to Group II and IIA).
- The prelims is a screening test only, so its marks are not counted in the final merit. Candidates are admitted to the Mains at 10 times the number of vacancies, following the reservation rules.
How to Download TNPSC Group 2 Hall Ticket 2026
- Go to the official website www.tnpsc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click the hall ticket link for Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA Services) (Notification No. 07/2026) Preliminary Examination.
- On the Memorandum of Admission page, enter your Application Number and Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy) and click Submit.
- Before printing, set the page size to A4 and keep the top and bottom margins to at most 5 mm (File > Page Setup), as TNPSC advises, so the hall ticket prints on one sheet.
- Download it, print it, and check your name, photo, register number, exam centre/venue and the instructions.
Hall tickets are not sent by post. According to the notification, they are available only online, on the Commission’s website (www.tnpscexams.in / tnpsc.gov.in).
Exam Day Instructions
- Carry the printed hall ticket and follow every instruction on it.
- You must sit the exam at the venue on your hall ticket. Centre change requests are not allowed.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, pen drives, calculators, log tables, books, notes and handbags are banned. TNPSC cannot promise safekeeping, so leave them at home.
- Anyone found with banned items may have the answer sheet invalidated and may be debarred.
